Emerging Leaders Coaching Programme
What is Emerging Leaders
Emerging Leaders is a 1:1 coaching programme between aspiring community leaders and volunteer coaches from the business world, created to strengthen the leadership of Islington not-for-profit organisations. Through working with volunteer coaches, aspiring community leaders get the space to explore professional challenges, identify solutions and embrace opportunities, strengthening their organisations as a result.
How the programme works:
Aspiring community leaders are paired with a volunteer coach for a six month, 1:1 partnership, where they will be supported to overcome key challenges.
The programme is best suited to aspiring community leaders that have worked in the third sector for at least two years and want to grow their responsibility for programmes or projects, teams of people, or an organisation. They must work for a charity or community organisation that serves Islington communities.
Coaches will be volunteers in middle management roles across BIG Alliance’s corporate partner companies, predominantly large multinational businesses that operate in the financial, legal and insurance sectors, amongst others. Volunteers will have a wide variety of roles, experience and skills.
All volunteers will receive coaching training ahead of the programme and be equipped with tools and guidance to best support their partner.
Following a careful matching process, aspiring community leaders will meet their coaches at a launch event and will then meet their partners for one hour per month for six months. Coaches and coachees are also required to attend mid-point and celebration events. They will receive monthly communications with tools, guidance and ideas for building a successful coaching relationship and receive ongoing support from BIG Alliance.
