Market Engagement Event - Behavioural Weight Management

Call for VCSE organisations to join our Market Engagement Event for Behavioural Weight Management Support
Islington Council are looking to engage with VCSE organisations to explore alternative models of adult behavioural weight management support. This will be an opportunity to learn more about and shape the potential recommissioning of these services.

We will be holding a market engagement event at Islington Town Hall on the 10th July from 10.30am – 11.30am. This will be a hybrid event with an option to join online via a Teams link.
We welcome the engagement of organisations that don't have experience of providing weight management services, but who may be interested in working with a specialist provider to deliver services in community settings in the future.

This event will be an opportunity to:

  1. Find out about our priorities for behavioural weight management support

  2. Learn about the possible service models that we will be market testing

  3. Discuss and learn more about the procurement process.

After the event, organisations will be invited to provide feedback on the different proposed service models and the procurement process via an online questionnaire.

If you would like to attend the event, please contact francesca.harringtonedmans@islington.gov.ukto RSVP. Please say if you would like to attend in person, as in-person places will be limited and available on a first come first served basis.

Information about the contract

Please note that this event is not a call for competition. For the avoidance of doubt, the Council is not committing, at this stage, to carrying out a tender process.

This market engagement event is being conducted by Islington Council, Camden Council may or may not join us in future stages of procurement if we go to tender.

Should we proceed with going out to tender in the future, it is expected that the new contract will start January 2027, however timelines are indicative and subject to internal governance. The estimated value of this contract is £100,000 per year (per borough). The contract is anticipated to be for three years, with the option to extend for two years, however these details are subject to further consideration.
