Trauma Informed Practice Project is joint venture between Islington CAMHS and London Borough of Islington Council. This Introduction to Trauma training is for the Family Hubs in Islington.
Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) is a strengths-based approach, seeking to understand and respond to the impact of complex, developmental trauma on people’s lives. It considers the exposure to multiple, often interrelated forms of traumatic experiences and how these can create survival instincts, impact on skill development and be displayed in behaviour. Trauma Informed Practice involves approaches in working with individuals as well as an organisational framework to inform service systems and practice.
This 2.5 hour training considers complex, developmental trauma and how to recognise and understand associated behaviour. We invite participants to explore Trauma Informed Practice and what this involves, and thinking together about how the Hubs can function together in a Trauma Informed way.
