Connecting the Pieces for Community Wellbeing

As part of our series of workshops funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (the most recent in May 2025) focusing on the work of the HOYD partner network together with other Islington organisations and networks, HOYD & Bright Lives Islington are pleased to invite you to the final workshop being facilitated by the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR).

A reminder: our shared ambition is to better utilise the network for the Islington community targeting support where it is most needed and using our collective expertise and experience to move people away from crisis to wellbeing.

There are 3 themes that have been agreed for the HOYD Partner Network to prioritise support for prevention and early intervention approaches, and to harness the skills and resources and lead to better wellbeing outcomes for residents.

Promotion of all our services – to help residents get to the right one at the right time

Clearer pathways within the network to wellbeing and strengths-based offers

Easier access to mental wellbeing support for those using any of our services

For this workshop we will focus on what has been achieved through our work together as well as updates on key projects that have evolved through this process and form our agreed direction.

The purpose of the workshop will be to:

  • Look back on what have we achieved since our first in person workshop in October 2023. What can we celebrate about this collective approach and what has been more difficult to do?

  • Hear about progress: specifically, the development of the HOYD case management (referral) system and the Islington wide shared induction being led by the Bright Lives Early Intervention Partnership.

  • Consider how this work connects to that of the Islington Neighbourhood Health and Care Model, including the 4 pillars. Emma Whitby from North Central London Integrated Care Board will set the scene on how health services will work in communities .

  • Draw together the partnership principles developed through this collaboration and hear from participants about ways to sustain the approach beyond the workshop programme.
