Join us for free informative session on Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) delivered by Russell Cooke
Date: Tuesday 1st October 2024
Registration: 10:00-10:30
Session time: 10:30- 11:30
Location: Voluntary Action Islington – 200a Pentonville Road, N1 9JP
Many organisations initially opt for the Community Interest Company (CIC) structure due to its quicker and potentially lower-cost process compared to charity registration. However, it is important to understand the range of options available. The Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), a bespoke legal structure for charities, has been in existence for over a decade. This session will address the following topics:
· Overview of different legal structures (including CICs, CIOs, and charitable companies limited by guarantee) – their pros, cons and key differences
· Introduction to a CIO
· Key components of a CIO constitution (including membership structures and trustee responsibilities)
· Benefits of adopting a CIO structure over other structures
· Steps to establish a CIO.
Attending the event is free to Islington residents, and charities. Places are strictly limited, so please book using the link below.
